David Taylor Workshop

All I can say is WOW!  I have taken many workshops over the last 20 years,
but this definitely my most favorite to date.  David Taylor is not only an
awesome art quilter, but he is also a great teacher.  Not all teachers are
good teachers.
The most thrilling part was learning how to draw a pattern from a black and white
photo enlargement.  The key is to SIMPLIFY the shapes!

As you can see, I was joined by many friends from my guild (Terri, Roberta &
Cecilia)  We all  had different subjects and they all were turning out amazing!

Quilt Museum Grand Opening

Last week we had the grand opening of the Wisconsin Quilt Museum in Cedarburg.
What an AWESOME place!  There are many who hope that it will become the
Paducah of the Midwest.

The was one of the entries for the Museum Challenge Quilt.  It won the judge's
choice award.  First place was given to Deanna Peterson (she's in NSQG).  Her
specialty is making purses:
When designing the museum, they kept many original features of the barn
so they could maintain their historical designation.

Quilts, food & entertainment......what more could you ask for???

Mukwonago Crazy Quilters had Ellen Ann Eddy teach a workshop this month
on bobbin thread painting.  I had taken a class similar to this years ago with
Libby Lehman and forgot that I wasn't crazy about the technique.  All in all, I'm
still glad I went to her workshop.  Her work was amazing, and even more
vivid to look at in person.
